Kathy Anderson lives her artistic life holding close the best lesson she learned from her longtime mentor and friend Richard Schmid: paint from life, and let painting be a joyous adventure!
A popular instructor who teaches workshops nationally and internationally, Anderson has received many awards, including the 2018 Donors’ Award of Excellence at the Oil Painters of America’s 27th Juried Exhibition in the Master Signature division, as well as Fourth Place in the Plein Air category of their National Wet Paint division. In addition to her recent election to Master Signature Member status of the Oil Painters of America, Anderson is a Signature Member of Allied Artists of America, The Connecticut Watercolor Society, and the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters. She is an Artist Member of both the Salmagundi Club and the National Arts Club (New York City). Anderson has had two solo exhibitions at The National Arts Club and is honored to have work in their permanent collection. She has been featured in several top art publications, including Fine Art Connoisseur, Southwest Art, International Artist, and more.
When not painting, Anderson can be found at her piano playing jazz — or in her garden, her greatest inspiration for her paintings.
Anderson is represented by Horton Hayes Fine Art (Charleston, SC), The Legacy Gallery (Scottsdale, AZ and Jackson, WY), Susan Powell Fine Art (Madison, CT), Tree’s Place (Orleans, MA), and West Wind Fine Art (Colorado Springs, CO).
