P.A. Nisbet is a nationally recognized master of the American landscape. He draws inspiration from locations throughout the Southwest with an emphasis on the Grand Canyon and other desert locales in Arizona and New Mexico. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a former U.S. Naval Officer with Vietnam service. In 1980, Nisbet moved from Washington, DC to Arizona and began a successful painting career that has spanned four decades. His work has been exhibited at The White House and The Smithsonian Institute (Washington, DC). Nisbet’s paintings are in the permanent collections of the Tucson Museum of Art (Tucson, AZ), the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art (Indianapolis, IN), the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art at the University of Oklahoma (Norman, OK), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) (Washington, DC), and the National Science Foundation (Alexandria, VA), as well as in numerous private collections worldwide.
Nisbet is represented by Mark Sublette/Medicine Man Gallery (Tucson, AZ), and he and his wife Rose live in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
