Born in Guangzhou, China, Zhaoming Wu graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, where he earned a B.F.A. in painting and was as an assistant professor for seven years. After moving to San Francisco, he received his M.F.A. in painting from the Academy of Art University, where he is currently an instructor. Active for many years as both an artist and a teacher, Wu has exhibited his work in museums and private collections around the world.
Wu’s vibrant career and technique have been highlighted in such national and international publications as American Art Collector, Fine Art Connoisseur, Fine Art Today, Plein Air, Southwest Art, Art of Watercolor (China), Arte Y Libertad (Spain), and Pratique des Arts (France). He has published nine books and was featured in three instructional DVDs. Wu has won awards and honors from International Artist magazine, Oil Painters of America, and the National Oil & Acrylic Painters’ Society, among others. For five consecutive years, he was a juror of an international art contest at MEAM, The European Museum of Modern Art (Barcelona).
